10. Functions of Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport (Executive Branch, Federal Government) of Nepal

 Functions of The (Federal/Central) Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport of Nepal:

This is the 12th Post on Function of Executive Government of Nepal Series and 11th ministry of which functions has been listed in Both English and Nepali Language for your reference. 

The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport is the central agency of the Government of Nepal that oversees the infrastructural sector and is charged with the responsibilities for enhancing the economic and social development of the country by linking various geographical and economic regions through the national strategic transport network. There are 21 functions listed in the Government of Nepal (Work Division) Regulation 2074 as per Article 82 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal  for this Ministry which is given below:

1. National transport development and management policies, laws, standards, implementation and regulation; (१. राष्ट्रिय यातायात विकास र व्यवस्थापनसम्बन्धी नीति, कानून, मापदण्ड, कार्यान्वयन र नियमन;  )

2. Interrelationship of national transport infrastructure network and interregional transport development; (२. राष्ट्रिय यातायात पूर्वाधार सञ्जाल र अन्तरप्रादेशिक यातायात विकासको अन्तरसम्बन्ध;  )

3. Promotion of environment, disability and gender friendly and disaster risk sensitive transport technologies; (३. वातावरण, अपाङ्गता र लैङ्गिकमैत्री तथा विपद् जोखिम संवेदनशील यातायात प्रविधिको प्रवर्द्धन; )

4. Policies, laws and standards related to national railways, rail systems including urban metro rail, rail safety systems; (४. राष्ट्रिय रेलमार्ग, सहरी मेट्रो रेललगायत रेल प्रणाली, रेल सुरक्षा प्रणालीसम्बन्धी नीति, कानून र मापदण्ड;  )

5. Operation of national and international train services; (५. राष्ट्रिय तथा अन्तरदेशीय रेल सेवा सञ्चालन;  )

6. Standards and regulation of railway fares and tariffs; (६. रेलसेवा भाडादर तथा महसुल निर्धारणको मापदण्ड र नियमन;  )

7. National highway policies, laws, standards, implementation and regulation; (७. राष्ट्रिय लोकमार्गसम्बन्धी नीति, कानून, मापदण्ड, कार्यान्वयन र नियमन;  )

8. Identification, study, construction, maintenance, fees and management of projects under the national highway; (८. राष्ट्रिय लोकमार्गअन्तर्गतका आयोजना पहिचान, अध्ययन, निर्माण, मर्मत सम्भार, महसुल र व्यवस्थापन;  )

9. Management and regulation of frontal access control on national highways, branch road access points and road boundaries; (९. राष्ट्रिय लोकमार्गमा फ्रन्टल एक्सेस नियन्त्रण, शाखा सडकको पहुँच विन्दु र सडक सीमाक्षेत्रको व्यवस्थापन र नियमन;  )

10. Data collection, archiving and dissemination of information on national highways; (१०. राष्ट्रिय लोकमार्गसम्बन्धी तथ्याङ्क सङ्कलन, अभिलेखीकरण र सूचना प्रवाह;  )

11. Studies and research on the development of road technology; (११. सडक प्रविधिको विकाससम्बन्धी अध्ययन र अनुसन्धान;  )

12. Road and other alternative transport technologies, investment and operation of inland passenger transport services; (१२. सडक तथा अन्य वैकल्पिक यातायात प्रविधि, लगानी र अन्तर्देशीय यात्रुबाहक यातायात सेवा सञ्चालन;  )

13. Route permitting, fare determination and regulation of public transport operating on national highways; (१३. राष्ट्रिय लोकमार्गमा सञ्चालन हुने सार्वजनिक यातायातको रुट अनुमति, भाडा निर्धारण र नियमन;  )

14. Determination, control and displacement of national standards of vehicles; (१४. सवारी साधनहरूको राष्ट्रिय मापदण्ड निर्धारण, नियन्त्रण तथा विस्थापन;  )

15. Road safety policies, laws, standards, coordination and regulation; (१५. सडक सुरक्षासम्बन्धी नीति, कानून, मापदण्ड, समन्वय र नियमन;  )

16. Policies, laws and standards related to alternative transportation including railways, cable cars, waterways; (१६. रज्जुमार्ग, केवलकार, जलमार्गलगायत वैकल्पिक यातायातसम्बन्धी नीति, कानून र मापदण्ड;  )

17. Identification, study and development of alternative transportation projects of national importance; (१७. राष्ट्रिय महत्त्वका वैकल्पिक यातायातका आयोजना पहिचान, अध्ययन र विकास;  )

18. basic transportation policies and standards; (१८. आधारभूत यातायात नीति र मापदण्ड;  )

19. Treaties, agreements, conventions, contacts and coordination with national international organizations related to the Ministry; (१९. मन्त्रालयसम्बन्धी राष्ट्रिय अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय संघसंस्थासँग सन्धि, सम्झौता, अभिसन्धि, सम्पर्क र समन्वय;  )

20. Operation and regulation of public institutions, authorities, committees, foundations, companies etc. related to the Ministry; (२०. मन्त्रालयसम्बन्धी सार्वजनिक संस्थान, प्राधिकरण, समिति, प्रतिष्ठान, कम्पनी आदिको सञ्चालन र नियमन;  )

21. Nepal Engineering Service, operation of highway and railway sub-group of civil engineering group. (२१. नेपाल इन्जिनियरिङ्ग सेवा, सिभिल इन्जिनियरिङ्ग समूहको हाइवे र रेल्वे उपसमूहको सञ्चालन ।  )
