14. Functions of Ministry of Defence (Executive Branch, Federal Government) of Nepal

 Functions of The (Federal/Central) Ministry of Defence of Nepal:

This is the 15th Post on Function of Executive Government of Nepal Series and 14th ministry of which functions has been listed in Both English and Nepali Language for your reference. 

The Ministry of Defence is the central agency of the Government of Nepal established to protect and defend the nation and the people from internal instability and external threats by ensuring the sovereignty, national independence and integrity of the country.  There are 22 functions listed in the Government of Nepal (Work Division) Regulation 2074 as per Article 82 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal  for this Ministry which is given below:

1. National security policies, laws, standards, planning, implementation and regulation; (१. राष्ट्रिय सुरक्षासम्बन्धी नीति, कानून, मापदण्ड, योजना, कार्यान्वयन र नियमन;  )

2. National and strategic security information collection, analysis, establishment, operation and management of communication systems and networks; (२. राष्ट्रिय तथा रणनीतिक सुरक्षा सम्बन्धी सूचना सङ्कलन, विश्लेषण, सञ्चार प्रणाली एवं सञ्जाल स्थापना, सञ्चालन र व्यवस्थापन; )

3. National Security Council and Security Sector Reform; (३. राष्ट्रिय सुरक्षा परिषद् र सुरक्षा क्षेत्र सुधार;  )

4. Security coordination of international borders; (४. अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय सिमानाको सुरक्षा समन्वय; )

5. Collection, analysis and use of border information; (५. सीमाक्षेत्रसम्बन्धी सूचना सङ्कलन, विश्लेषण तथा उपयोग;  )

6. Policies, strategies, laws, standards, planning, implementation, control and regulation related to the formation and deployment of the Nepali Army; (६. नेपाली सेना गठन तथा परिचालनसम्बन्धी नीति, रणनीति, कानून, मापदण्ड, योजना, कार्यान्वयन, नियन्त्रण र नियमन; )

7. Military Barracks and Office Management; (७. सैनिक व्यारेक तथा कार्यालय व्यवस्थापन;  )

8. Discipline of military officers and soldiers, conditions of service, military training and facilities; (८. सैनिक अधिकृत तथा जवानको अनुशासन, सेवाका सर्त, सैनिक तालिम तथा सुविधा;  )

9. military installations and communications and transport; (९. सैनिक प्रतिष्ठापन (इन्स्टलेसन) र सञ्चार तथा यातायात;  )

10. Production and use of arms, ammunition and explosives and furniture, related policies, laws, standards, implementation, control and sewing; (१०. हातहतियार, खरखजाना तथा विस्फोटक पदार्थ र असबाब उत्पादन र प्रयोग, सोसम्बन्धी नीति, कानून, मापदण्ड, कार्यान्वयन, नियन्त्रण तथा सिलखाना;  )

16. policy, implementation and coordination on demining; (१६. बारुदी सुरुङ्ग निष्प्रभावीकरण सम्बन्धी नीति, कार्यान्वयन र समन्वय;  )

17. organization, training and administration of the National Service Corps; (१७. राष्ट्रिय सेवा दलको सङ्गठन, तालिम र प्रशासन; )

18. Assistance in development work and disaster relief work; (१८. विकास कार्य र विपद् उद्धार कार्यमा सहयोग;  )

19. Military Hospitals, Military Welfare and Military Welfare Schemes; (१९. सैनिक अस्पताल, सैनिक कल्याण र सैनिक कल्याणकारी योजना;  )

20. Protection of national parks, wildlife sanctuaries and important national heritage and monuments; (२०. राष्ट्रिय निकुञ्ज, वन्यजन्तु आरक्ष र महत्त्वपूर्ण राष्ट्रिय सम्पदा तथा स्मारकको सुरक्षा; )

21. Assistance in promoting international peace; (२१. अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय शान्ति प्रवर्द्धनमा सहयोग;  )

22. Agreements, agreements, conventions, contacts and coordination with national and international organizations related to the ministry. (२२. मन्त्रालयसम्बन्धी राष्ट्रिय अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय संघसंस्थासँग सन्धि, सम्झौता, अभिसन्धि, सम्पर्क र समन्वय ।  )
