Functions of The (Federal/Central) Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Nepal:

This is the 21st Post on Function of Executive Government of Nepal Series and 20th ministry of which functions has been listed in Both English and Nepali Language for your reference. 

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is the central agency of the Government of Nepal for drafting policies regarding communications and information technology and regulating the subject matter under these domains. There are 29 functions listed in the Government of Nepal (Work Division) Regulation 2074 as per Article 82 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal  for this Ministry which is given below:

1. Policies, laws, standards, implementation and regulation related to communication and information, telecommunications, information and communication technology; (१. सञ्चार तथा सूचना, दूरसञ्चार, सूचना तथा सञ्चार प्रविधिसम्बन्धी नीति, कानून, मापदण्ड, कार्यान्वयन र नियमन;  )

2. Telecommunication and Broadcasting Frequency Allocation, Tariff Determination and Mapping, Permitting, Renewal and Regulation of Use; (२. दूरसञ्चार र प्रसारण फ्रिक्वेन्सी बाँडफाँड, शुल्क निर्धारण र नक्साङ्कन, प्रयोगको अनुमति, नवीकरण र नियमन;  )

3. study, research, promotion and regulation of information and communication technology; (३. सूचना र सञ्चार प्रविधिसम्बन्धी अध्ययन, अनुसन्धान, प्रवर्द्धन र नियमन;  )

27. Operation of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering Group of Nepal Engineering Service. (२७. नेपाल इन्जिनियरिङ्ग सेवाको इलेक्ट्रोनिक एण्ड टेलिकम्युनिकेसन इन्जिनियरिङ्ग समूह सञ्चालन ।  )
