21. Functions of Ministry of Urban Development (Executive Branch, Federal Government) of Nepal

Functions of The (Federal/Central) Ministry of Urban Development of Nepal:

This is the 22nd Post on Function of Executive Government of Nepal Series and 21st Ministry of which functions has been listed in Both English and Nepali Language for your reference. 

The Ministry of Urban Development is the central agency of the Government of Nepal for making urban planning and development of Nepal. There are 12 functions listed in the Government of Nepal (Work Division) Regulation 2074 as per Article 82 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal  for this Ministry which is given below:

1. Urban development policies, laws and standards; (१. सहरी विकाससम्बन्धी नीति, कानून र मापदण्ड;  ) 2. Policies, laws, standards and regulations relating to slum development, urban development and housing development; (२. बस्ती विकास, सहरी विकास र आवास विकाससम्बन्धी नीति, कानून, मापदण्ड र नियमन;  ) 3. National Building Code policies, laws and standards; (३. राष्ट्रिय भवन संहितासम्बन्धी नीति, कानून र मापदण्ड;  ) 4. Construction, maintenance and management of the building of the Federal Secretariat; (४. सङ्घीय सचिवालयको भवन निर्माण, मर्मत तथा व्यवस्थापन;  ) 5. National Urban Infrastructure Development, Federal Government Housing, Building Construction and Maintenance; (५. राष्ट्रिय सहरी पूर्वाधार विकास, सङ्घीय सरकारी आवास, भवन निर्माण तथा मर्मत सम्भार;  ) 6. Typical urban structures; (६. विशिष्ट सहरी संरचना; ) 7. National joint and multiple housing policies, laws, standards and regulations; (७. राष्ट्रियस्तरका संयुक्त र बहुतले आवाससम्बन्धी नीति, कानून, मापदण्ड र नियमन;  ) 8. Housing management policies, laws and standards targeting endangered, marginalized, poor, senior citizens (८. लोपोन्मुख, सीमान्तकृत, गरिब, जेष्ठ नागरिक लक्षित आवास व्यवस्थापन नीति, कानून र मापदण्ड ) 9. Urban Development Fund; (९. नगर विकास कोष;  ) 10. Treaties, agreements, contacts and coordination with national and international organizations related to the ministry; (१०. मन्त्रालयसम्बन्धी राष्ट्रिय तथा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय संस्थासँग सन्धि, सम्झौता, सम्पर्क र समन्वय;  ) 11. Operation and regulation of public institutions, authorities, establishments, companies etc. related to the Ministry; (११. मन्त्रालयसम्बन्धी सार्वजनिक संस्थान, प्राधिकरण, प्रतिष्ठान, कम्पनी आदिको सञ्चालन र नियमन;  ) 12. Nepal Engineering Service, Civil Engineering Group's Building and Architect Sub-Group operation.
