6. Functions of Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (Executive Branch, Federal Government) of Nepal

 Functions of The (Federal/Central) Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development of Nepal:

This is the 7th Post on Function of Executive Government of Nepal Series and 6th ministry of which functions has been listed in Both English and Nepali Language for your reference. 

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development of Nepal is the central agency of the Government of Nepal for developing and enhancing the agriculture and livestock sector of Nepal. There are 25 functions listed in the Government of Nepal (Work Division) Regulation 2074 as per Article 82 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal  for this Ministry which is given below:

1.  Policies, laws, standards and regulations related to agriculture and agro-biodiversity and biotechnology; (  कृषि तथा कृषिजन्य जैविक विविधता र जैविक प्रविधिसम्बन्धी नीति, कानून, मापदण्ड र नियमन; ) 

2.  Policies, laws, standards and regulations on food security, food rights and food sovereignty, food quality and food hygiene; (  खाद्य सुरक्षा, खाद्य अधिकार र खाद्य सम्प्रभुता, खाद्यपदार्थको गुणस्तर तथा खाद्य स्वच्छतासम्बन्धी नीति, कानून, मापदण्ड र नियमन; ) 

3.  Policies, laws, standards and regulations regarding the use and management of agricultural and veterinary drugs, micronutrients and biological pesticides, chemical pesticides; (  कृषि तथा पशुपन्छीजन्य औषधी, सूक्ष्मपोषण तत्त्व र जैविक विषादी, रासायनिक विषादीको उपयोग र व्यवस्थापनसम्बन्धी नीति, कानून, मापदण्ड र नियमन; ) 

4.  Policies, laws, standards, implementation and regulation of food quarantine, animal and plant quarantine; (  खाद्य क्वारेन्टाइन, पशु तथा वनस्पतिजन्य क्वारेन्टाइनसम्बन्धी नीति, कानून, मापदण्ड, कार्यान्वयन र नियमन; )

8.  International accreditation, certification, laboratory development and management of agriculture and food; (  कृषि तथा खाद्यसम्बन्धी अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय प्रत्यायन, प्रमाणीकरण, प्रयोगशाला विकास र व्यवस्थापन; ) 

9.  Policies, laws, standards, quality determination, coordination and regulation related to production, import and use of chemical and biological fertilizers; (  रासायनिक तथा जैविक मल उत्पादन, आयात तथा प्रयोगसम्बन्धी नीति, कानून, मापदण्ड, गुणस्तर निर्धारण, समन्वय र नियमन; ) 

10.  Control of agricultural, fisheries and livestock epidemics; (  कृषि, मत्स्य तथा पशुपन्छीजन्य महामारी नियन्त्रण; )
