7. Functions of Ministry of Water Supply (Executive Branch, Federal Government) of Nepal

Functions of The (Federal/Central) Ministry of Water Supply of Nepal:

This is the 8th Post on Function of Executive Government of Nepal Series and 6th ministry of which functions has been listed in Both English and Nepali Language for your reference. 

Water supply and sanitation sectoral policies, acts, rules and formation orders are the legal basis for functioning of the Ministry of Water Supply. There are 9 functions listed in the Government of Nepal (Work Division) Regulation 2074 as per Article 82 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal  for this Ministry which is given below:

1. Formulation, implementation, monitoring, regulation and evaluation of policies, plans and programs related to water supply, ( खानेपानी सम्बन्धी नीति, योजना तथा कार्यक्रमको तर्जुमा, कार्यान्वयन, अनुगमन, नियमन र मूल्यांकन, ) 

2. Water, Sanitation and Sewerage, ( खानेपानी, सरसफाइ तथा ढल निकास, ) 

3. Kathmandu Valley Water Management Board, ( काठमाण्डौ उपत्यका खानेपानी व्यवस्थापन बोर्ड, ) 

4. Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Limited, ( काठमाण्डौ उपत्यका खानेपानी लिमिटेड, ) 

5. Kathmandu Valley Water Supply and Sanitation Project Implementation Directorate, ( काठमाण्डौ उपत्यका खानेपानी तथा सरसफाइ आयोजना कार्यान्वयन निर्देशनालय, ) 

6. Nepal Water Supply Institute, ( नेपाल खानेपानी संस्थान, ) 

7. Melamchi Water Supply Development Committee and Melamchi Water Supply Project, ( मेलम्ची खानेपानी विकास समिति तथा मेलम्ची खानेपानी आयोजना, ) 

8. Water and Tariff Commission, ( खानेपानी तथा महशुल निर्धारण आयोग, ) 

9. Operation of sanitary sub-group of Nepal Engineering Service Civil Engineering Group. ( नेपाल इन्जिनियरिङ्ग सेवा सिभिल इन्जिनियरिङ्ग समूहको स्यानिटरी उपसमूहको सञ्चालन । )
